Dancing Trousers Cookery School is the brain-child of ex Masterchef contestant Alexis Thompson.

Based in Alexis' own home in the heart of the beautiful Cotswolds, courses are hands-on, fun and sociable.  Small groups of around 6-8 people learn in Alexis' spacious, airy and well equipped kitchen.  Courses are designed for all abilities from complete beginners to accomplished cooks.

Groups make bread, a starter, main course and dessert and then sit down at lunchtime to enjoy the fruits of their labour with a well-deserved glass of wine.

Alexis also runs specialist Italian and fish courses, a half day cupcake course and has just launched a new macaron course.  With names like The Italian Job, A La Start and Scale the Heights, it's clear that the philosophy at Dancing Trousers is that learning to cook should be fun, relaxing and engaging.

Alexis trained at the prestigious Tante Marie Cookery School (part owned by Gordon Ramsay) and graduated as the highest achieving student in her year.

She has worked as a research chef and has even for cooked for royalty at Kensington Palace!

Dancing Trousers specialises in sociable and accessible courses.  Courses include morning tea and coffee with home made cakes and biscuits, wine with lunch on the full day courses and all recipe sheets.

There are gift vouchers available for all courses and Team Days for businesses can also be arranged along with specially designed one-to-one tuition.

The winner of the Magic auction item will receive two free places on any of the Dancing Trousers day-long courses (excluding A La Smart) and one night’s stay (in a double room) at the beautiful Five Alls pub in Filkins including breakfast.  The Five Alls has recently been completely refurbished and boasts a small number of charming boutique style rooms.  It is run by Duncan and Manoli.  Duncan is a gifted chef who has worked with Heston Blumenthal and run his own private cheffing company so the food at the Five Alls is wonderful.  Manoli has worked in a number of prestigious hotels and oversees the accommodation and front of house with charm and efficiency.  The pub is just a couple of minutes walk from Dancing Trousers Cookery School.
