Welcome To My World by Miranda Dickinson Book Review

Miranda Dickinson has always had a head full of stories. From an early age she dreamed of writing a book that would make the heady heights of Kingswinford Library. Following a Performance Art degree, she began to write in earnest when a friend gave her The World's Slowest PC. She is also a singer-songwriter. Her first novel, Fairytale of New York was a Sunday Times Top 10 title. Welcome to my World is Miranda’s second novel.

Here's what our Magic bookworm Nicola had to say...

Easy reading, hooked almost from page one.

The basis of the book, A mother decides her son is not very good and finding the “right” girlfriend and decides to give him a helping hand and by persuading her surrogate daughter who also is her son's best friend to answer an ad in a national magazine for a dating feature they run that is flagging…

After a lot of persuasion and against her better judgment “Harri” agrees to help the Mum and completes the application on behalf of “Alex” they are inundated with applicants due to the good looks and write up of the well travelled son.

Alex then goes on a series of dates unknowingly arranged by the Magazine, a lot of fun, tears and heartache obviously follow.

The storyline is a situation a lot of Mums can relate to but never have the nerve to do anything about a very different storyline, lighthearted and fun with an inevitable ending that you can guess almost from the end of the first couple of chapters"

Welcome To My World by Miranda Dickinson, is out now published by Avon, £6.99 Paperback.
