The Closer girls strip naked for RSPCA
Closer magazine are famous for persuading celebrities to shed their clothes and pose in the nude. Stars including Janice Dickinson and Claire Richards have dared to go bare in the pages of the best selling magazine. And when staff at Closer decided to raise money and awareness for the RSPCA there seemed only one way to do it!
So it was that (on a Monday morning) 25 female staff gathered in a cold studio in Kentish Town and stripped off covering their modesty with strategically placed pink fabric and a collection of small dogs!
Closer Editor Lisa Burrow explained “The Closer team spend their life persuading celebs to disrobe we know how much our readers love hearing about celebs' and their body image but this time the tables were turned as we stripped bare too! We are huge animal lovers on the team and think the work of the RSPCA is second to none. So we combined naked women with cute dogs in the hope that our small act of bravery raises plenty of money for this vital cause.”
Closer were delighted to have the support of model mum Danielle Lloyd, who's expecting her second child in September. Danielle said “I’m thrilled to be supporting Closer's campaign. I know how daunting it can be to bare your body for a photo shoot and think that all of the Closer girls have done an amazing job. I really do urge all the Closer readers to donate generously, as all of the proceeds will be going into the support fund for caring for hundreds of animals across London and the UK. Jamie and I rescued our dog Bentley and he is now an integral part of our family. It really is a fab initiative for a great cause”.
The twitterati have been tweeting their support for Closer’s campaign with stars including Kelly Osbourne, Kate Garraway, Lisa Faulkner and Gemma Atkinson all mentioning the shoot under #closernakedtruth.
The RSPCA is in desperate need of funds to support the thousands of animals in their care . To donate text PUPS07 followed by the amount you want to give to 70070.
See the full shoot in next week’s magazine, on sale Tuesday July 12.
