About Martin
What is your favourite love song?
True Companion, Marc Cohn. Simply the very best lyrics and a fairly simple tune that even I can play on guitar!
What is your favourite view around London?
There are many, Houses of Parliament from the river at night. The wonderful Michelin building (Bibendum) in the sunshine. The front of The Scientology building on Queen Victoria St.
What do you love about London?
The diversity. Theatre, music, history, art, museums and libraries.
Where is best to take your kids around London?
Any of the parks. London for kids changes so much between the seasons and each looks amazing at any time of year.
What has been your favourite London gig?
There are loads, but I loved Guns and Roses at Wembley. Also REM when they played under an assumed name at The Borderline. Most U2 shows. Marvin Gaye at the Apollo Victoria and Stevie Wonder was guest performing which topped it all.
Who is your all time music legend?
Neil Young, especially his acoustic stuff. David Bowie is a genius. Bob Dylan for his lyrics. Just listen to the words in 'Positively 4th St' and 'Make you feel my love', fantastic! And I can play them on guitar ;o)
What is your favourite book?
This would be another long list, love The Lord of the Rings. Dante's 'Inferno', I often wonder who I would meet if I followed his journey.
What is your favourite film?
Stop now. There can't be just one! High Society, Withnail and I, Heat (De Niro and Pacino taking the coolest cup of coffee in movie history) Lord of the Rings... and the list goes on.
What is your most embarrassing moment on air?
Seriously? You want me to tell you? One evening get Foxy drunk and he'll tell you ;o)
