Boris talks 'Magic Breakfast'
Mayor of London Boris Johnson has launched the 'Magic Breakfast' for hungry London school children and Magic 105.4 is proud to be official radio partner to the scheme.
The Mayor’s Fund for London and Magic Breakfast’s healthy eating initiative will fuel 5,000 hungry children with free, healthy breakfasts in 50 schools across London’s most disadvantaged areas.
The three year £650k scheme will provide London school children with over 100,000 bagels and 62,000 bowls of cereal and porridge each year, as well as 93,000 glasses of fresh juice, as part of their nutritious breakfasts.
Magic Breakfast is the largest independent charity working with primary schools to ensure that every child starts the day with the right breakfast as fuel for learning. Magic Breakfast supplies free, nutritious breakfasts to more than 6,000 primary school pupils in 210 schools across England and believes that no child's education should suffer for the lack of a breakfast.
Our very own Neil Fox is ambassador for this initiative and is encouraging everyone to get involved.
"As a busy father of three who gets up at 4am each day to host the Magic 105.4 Breakfast Show I really understand the value of a proper breakfast as the most important meal of the day. My three are lucky enough to always have one but sadly a huge percentage of school children don’t and this genuinely affects their chances of achieving a decent education. This is a hugely important initiative that I am proud to be a part of."
