MAGIC BOOK CLUB'S JUNE BOOK OF THE MONTH IS FIRST LADIES, THE DEBUT NOVEL BY SKY NEWS' KAY BURLEY

Behind every great man, there's a great woman,
only in Julian Jenson's case, there are three…

This June’s book of the month is the debut novel from the feisty face of Sky News, Kay Burley.

Although ‘First Ladies’ is purported to be pure fiction with the characters being conjured up purely from the annals of Ms Burley’s imagination, we can’t help but wonder if there is some morsel of factuality surrounding her First Ladies and their escapades!

For this reason we can’t wait to here Angie’s chat with Kay as she digs a little deeper about the motivation behind her story– this will be on the website next month so keep coming back!

Here’s a little taster of ‘First Ladies’ to whet your appetite for a really juicy read…

Suave PM Julian Jenson has just been re-elected. He is the nation's darling and can talk the birds from the trees.

At his side is his wife, Valerie Jenson. Trim, tall, well educated but deeply unhappy – with her son and daughter away at school, Valerie spends her time drinking.

Sally Simpson is at the peak of her game. Powerful editor of the bestselling magazine Celeb, she can't wait to take her rightful place by Julian's side as his new wife and glamorous chatelaine of No.10.

Sexy TV reporter Isla McGovern has caught Julian's eye, and she will do anything (or anyone) to get to the top.

When the three women meet, so begins a perfect storm that could bring down a government and end a Prime Minister's career. And only one woman can emerge victorious.
