Angie reviews the The St. Pancras Hotel Renaissance Spa.

Angie Greaves paid a visit to the The St. Pancras Hotel Renaissance Spa. Here are her thoughts...

How anyone can walk into this beautiful space in a stressed state and walk out feeling exactly the same way, is virtually impossible. The Spa at the St. Pancras Hotel is like nothing I have experienced before. Dimmed lights, soft music, beauty therapy experiences for both male and female, Cinq Mondes Spa products, the most amazing health pool – I could have stayed there all afternoon but had to get back to do my show!!

The choice of treatments alone will start to calm you down as you sip your room temperature water with a touch of mint, lemon, orange or lime. Cleanse your hands from the morning’s activities with a compressed towel which starts as small as a penny and then unfolds when dipped in water. There are “geographical” massages – yes geographical – including Journeys to India, Africa, Indonesia and the Silk Route, ranging from 90 to 180 minutes and each ending with special syrup and a delicacy from that region. What I loved was the sense of “calm” in the building, the perfect place to spend a day and totally unwind and relax.

Enter the changing room and immediately feel secure, a hand written welcome card in the locker, mine stated “give your stress wings, let it fly away – enjoy your experience”. Matching robe, hand towel, bath towel and slippers all with the peacock logo, the peacock being a symbol of regeneration predicting that you will feel just that after your visit – regenerated.

I had a dip in the health pool, after which I enter the therapy room, a beautiful fan of peacock feathers is placed on the outer side of the door – as oppose to a Don’t Disturb Sign!! My treatment starts with some breathing exercises followed by a full body massage using Ayurvedic oils and literally starts from the crown of my head down to my little toe!

I know I’ve always said the Stress Busters is the perfect time for relaxation, but that’s now second place... book yourself a visit to the St Pancras Hotel Renaissance Spa.
