It could happen to your child, or your friend’s child.
An estimated 140,000 children go missing in the UK every year, nearly three-quarters of them are girls.
While many will run away to a place of safety, friends or a family member, according to research 1 in 6 will sleep rough and 1 in 12 will be hurt or harmed whilst away. About 25% of these children will be gone for more than 48 hours.
The charity Missing People is a 24-7 lifeline when someone disappears. They are there for you if the worst happens and your child does not come home from school one day. Highly trained staff and volunteers are also on hand for the missing people too – offering around the clock advice and support by phone, email and text to ensure they are safe from harm.
Thanks to the support of Cash for Kids, Missing People hopes to reach more missing children and young people.
“Thanks to the generous support of Cash for Kids and all their supporters, Missing People can be there for more missing children who are very vulnerable situations.
“We are here day and night as a lifeline when someone disappears and we could not do it without the support of Cash for Kids and all the listeners of Magic 105.4 – thank you!”
