Wow can you guys believe that it's only two days away until Christmas? After a quick pre-Christmas cocktail I whizzed home, bags in hand for a mamouth wrapping session and let me tell you I was completely exhausted after hours of sticky tape, ribbon and spangly paper antics! While I heard today it's not set to be a white Christmas, the Magic office is definitely buzzing with excitement to be with family and tucking into a delicious festive feast.

Christmas Reading

Keep an eye out on the Royal Variety Performance (on TV Wednesday 17th December) for a band called Naturally 7. Seven guys from New York City who make brilliant music without the aid of any instrument. I went to see a showcase of their talents earlier this week in town and was totally blown away by their harmonies, their mimicking of instruments and just their stage presence as well. They�ve a new album released early next year which will amaze you. Whilst I was watching the showcase I suddenly thought how much easier being a musician without instruments must be. No overlong sound-checks, broken guitar strings, dropped drumsticks and the like, and no need to book an extra seat on the aircraft for all the kit � it�s the way forward for 2009, definitely.

Cracking Christmas Credit Munch!

Happy Thursday! I hope everyone is well and counting down the days to Christmas? I have officially started my Christmas countdown, tucking into my first (of many!) Christmas dinners yesterday and I have even squeezed a little pressie shopping in on my lunch hours.

Anyway before I ramble on, an article in our news section caught my attention today - top author Gill Holcombe has taken the hard work out of Christmas food and put together a five-day festive menu for just �75! How fantastic is that in times of credit crunch! The festive feed need no longer run into the hundred pound mark. I'll definitely be picking up on Gill's top tips - if you fancy trying out her credit munch recipes why not indulge in her book 'How To Feed Your Whole Family a Healthy, Balanced Diet with Very Little Money and Hardly Any Time, Even if You Have a Tiny Kitchen, Only Three Saucepans (One with an Ill-fitting Lid) and no Fancy Gadgets unless You Count the Garlic Crusher' - yes that is the full title!

Gary Visits Bermuda!

Apologies for no updated blog last week, but I was out of the country in a little paradise that reminded me of Britain from 30 years ago.

I was in Bermuda, an island in the Atlantic that�s only 21 miles long and 1.5 miles wide. It�s inhabitants have a respect for each other that some would say is missing over here, helped by zero unemployment, an island surrounded by beautiful, picturesque bays, every one of which looks like an aquarium as your peer in to see fish of all shapes and colours. From the historic Dockyard area, to the capital, Hamilton, with it�s chic shops, the whole island is an absolute delight, made all the better by the friendliness of the locals�. As if all that wasn�t enough to make your holiday, I stayed at what many consider to be the best resort on the island, Cambridge Beaches, with just about the friendliest and most helpful staff you could ever wish to meet.
