Nickname: Foxy or Doctor

Most annoying habit: according to my wife, my most annoying habit is being too loud and happy in the morning as she is definitely not a morning person!!

Most amiable habit: wanting to spend as much time as possible with my wife and kids!

Childhood dream job: wanted to be an astronaut (  still do)

Momentous moment on air: to be honest, from my very first show to the one i have just done has been momentous. I love being on-air and find it a real joy and privilege to have been doing this for 23 years now!   

Dream interview: Having interviewed every major living music star has been truly fascinating, but musically I would love to have interviewed Elvis...such a ground breaking artist from such an exciting era...and still the biggest by miles. Truly a one-off. 

Awards won: I have been lucky enough to win pretty much everything in radio but its still a thrill when your peers...or the public vote you as their favourite. Sony's including the Gold award for Broadcaster of the Year.New York festival world awards. Smash hits national DJ of the Year. Commercial radio Broadcaster of the Year. Commercial Radio Arqiva awards Outstanding contribution award and I was inducted into the Radio Hall of Fame in 2007. On the TV front, I have been part of the team that won the Golden Rose of Montreux, BAFTAs and NTA's for Pop Idol. It's been a good ride so far!

What is your favourite driving album: It used to be 'What's The Story, Morning Glory?' by Oasis, but now with the kids in tow I am usually listening to whatever DVDs they're watching in the back or tuning into Magic!

What was the first single you bought: John Congus' 'Togdoshy Man' - very obscure!

What has been your best ever concert you've been to: It's a toss up between Oasis as support to U2 in San Francisco or the last Bon Jovi concert at Wembley where I ended up on stage!

What is your secret song: 'With Arms Wide Open' by Creed

Which is your favourite film soundtrack: Grease

If you could be one musical artist, dead or alive, who would you be and why: Elvis, simply the coolest singer of all time.

Favourite song: Ooo there's so many, it really does depend on my mood.

Favourite meal: Thai

Biggest influence: My Dad

Best holiday destination: For pampering - the Maldives, for fascinating views - South America and for sheer adrenalin - motorcycling around Montana and Wyoming.

What is your favourite London view: Standing on Westminster Bridge at the crack of dawn, you really can see it all from here.

3 items you can't live without: The family, my motorcycle, my credit card.

What's your extravagance: It used to be a helicopter but now I have kids!

What are your home comforts: An enormous bed

How would other's describe you: Talkative, honest, hard working and hard partying

If you were Prime Minister for the day what law would you pass: That no-one could enter into politics without previously having worked in another job aside from politics,have decent morals, be honest and genuinely have a concerted interested in making a difference to the country.
