Nickname:
I have 2 nicknames 1) Burnbados – the first meal I cooked for Mr. G, I was so nervous I burned everything and he’s never let me forget it.  2)  Mumcani - before I had my lovely babies my name was Angela, it is now Mum Can I …

Most annoying habit:
I sometimes watch programmes on the Sky + box at weird hours of the morning.

Most amiable habit:

EMMA Award and a Sony Nomination

MUSIC

What is your favourite driving album: I can’t put my finger on one specific album. During the school run it’s usually what the girls love, a bit of dance mixed with R’n’B. Around July I usually get music sent to me from Barbados after their Carnival (Crop Over), and it’s great to be driving along listening to Soca on a hot summer day in London (I just imagine the palm trees and blue sea whilst on the M25!).

What was the first single you bought: Show Me The Way To Go – The Jacksons

What has been your best ever concert you've been to: Stevie Wonder at Wembley Arena 1989 (I had fantastic seats)

What is your secret song: It’s no secret at all – Ella Fitzgerald 'Every Time We Say Goodbye'.  Her voice is crystal clear and those lyrics.

Which is your favourite film soundtrack:
There are so many, but the 2 that I am going to tell you about are...

Jason’s Lyric with Jada Pinkett-Smith because that soundtrack and film go hand in hand. You watch the film and you want to listen to the soundtrack, you listen to the soundtrack and you want to watch the film to see the scene the song came from.  Even though that film is 15 years old I still love watching it and the soundtrack still sounds as fresh today as it did 15 years ago.

The other film that has recently given me that same feeling is the Sex and The City Soundtrack with Duffy, India Aire Nina Simone, Jennifer Hudson, the list goes on. Every time I hear Al Green singing How Can You Mend A Broken Heart, it reminds me of the scene in the film when Steve realises Miranda his wife has decided to meet him on the Brooklyn Bridge. Aaahhhh, so lovely!

If you could be one musical artist, dead or alive, who would you be and why: I think it’s got to be Aretha Franklin.  She is one of many gifted singers, but to be able to open your mouth and make a sound like the sound Aretha makes, having had no training or singing lessons, is just a gift.  And I just wish she would get over her fear of flying!

PERSONAL PASSIONS

Favourite song:  There are just too many to mention – sorry!!

Favourite meals:
Chinese – Chicken in Black Bean Sauce,
Thai – Tom Yum soup
Caribbean – Rice and peas with cooked down chicken
English – Smoked Salmon
There are just so many different meals I appreciate

Biggest influence: Umm let me think about that one!

Best holiday destination: Barbados – of course!

What is your favourite London view?:  I love the scene of anywhere in London in lights at night; Canary Wharf, the London Eye, the Houses of Parliament ,etc.

3 items you can't live without: After my babies and Mr.G, my nail file, my Dove products and my MAC Currant lip pencil.

What's your extravagance?: I do spend a lot of time and money on my nails, getting them covered in gel so they don’t break.  I don’t wear false nails or tips any more!

What are your home comforts?: My home comfort is actually my home.  I love weekends when I get home after my Saturday show.  We’re all together and sometimes other family members come over and it’s just great.  The unplanned barbeque with kids running around, in and out of the garden, it’s really lovely.  Family life is something I really do treasure.

How would other's describe you: I should leave other’s to answer that! I would hope that people would see me first and foremost as a human being warts and all, but also a warm and understanding person who absolutely loves life (you only get one shot) and loves to laugh – and I really do, and do so at every opportunity.

Who would be your 5 dream dinner party guests: If I have to choose 5 people that I have not already mentioned then they would have to be - Samuel L. Jackson, Keifer Sutherland, Oprah Winfrey, Julia Roberts, Freddie McGregor. Could you imagine that meal?!

If you were Prime Minister for the day what law would you pass: Firstly I wouldn’t want to be Prime Minister for just one day. Give me a term. I would change laws to ensure that children were children again.  Adults would take responsibility for their kids in all areas.  Teachers would be “old school”, teaching because they believe it is their calling, and in turn would ensure that children learn in school and are inspired.

The world is changing so much and it’s a difficult time for parents and teachers, but children just have too much power with no life experience – it just doesn’t make sense.
